The large-scale grid connection of renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic and wind power has put forward strict requirements for the high-frequency and high-efficiency operation of power electronic equipment. Amorphous and nanocrystalline soft magnetic materials, as the core materials of inverters and high-frequency transformers, have become the key guarantee for energy conversion efficiency. The global photovoltaic inverter market size is expected to reach 25 billion US dollars in 2024, among which the proportion of inverters using nanocrystalline soft magnetic materials has increased from 15% in 2020 to 40%.
Data from a large-scale photovoltaic power station shows that the energy conversion efficiency of inverters using amorphous alloy cores has increased from 96% to 98.5%, and the annual power generation has risen by 3%. It is expected that by 2030, the global demand for amorphous and nanocrystalline soft magnetic materials in the new energy sector will account for 35% of the total demand, making it the largest application field.
