As the scientific research achievements continue to exert influence, good news comes again from the industrial sector. On January 6, 2026, the groundbreaking ceremony of the first phase of the calcium carbonate whisker nanoparticle composite material project in Guanyang County, Guangxi, was held, marking a new layout in China's large-scale application of non-metallic mineral nanocrystal composites. With a total investment of 2 billion yuan and a total area of 420 mu, the project plans to construct 15 production lines of whisker nanometer new materials with an annual output of 1 million tons and supporting facilities, to be advanced in two phases.

According to the plan, the first phase project launched in 2026 will invest 200 million yuan, focusing on land leveling, construction of one standard factory building, and simultaneous completion of a production line with an annual output of 75,000 tons and supporting facilities; the second phase project to be implemented from 2027 to 2029 will invest 1.8 billion yuan to complete the remaining 14 production lines and auxiliary facilities, build an industrial ecosystem, and attract the agglomeration of downstream related enterprises. After the project is fully put into production, it is expected to achieve an annual output value of 3 billion yuan and annual tax payment of more than 150 million yuan, while driving more than 700 local jobs, providing strong support for the quality improvement and efficiency enhancement of the county economy and the development of new material industrial clusters.
