At present, the research and development of solid-state transformers in China is synchronized with international standards, which is a critical period to seize opportunities.

Solid state transformer (SST) is a power equipment that converts electrical energy based on semiconductor devices such as MOSFET and IGBT. It replaces traditional iron core coil structures with high-frequency electromagnetic induction technology, which can flexibly adjust voltage, frequency, and power characteristics. It has core advantages such as high energy conversion efficiency, small size, low weight, low noise, and can integrate intelligent control functions. Its research and development and breakthroughs are key technical support for the vigorous development of new power systems.

From the perspective of material innovation, amorphous nanocrystals have a "dual nature" of providing high electrical resistivity and reducing eddy current losses in the amorphous phase, and endowing excellent soft magnetic properties in the nanocrystalline phase, making their application advantages in solid-state transformers more obvious than other magnetic materials under the same magnetic density conditions.

By replacing traditional soft magnetic materials such as ferrite with amorphous nanocrystalline materials, the manufacturing cost of solid-state transformers can be reduced by 30% and carbon emissions can be reduced. It is expected that by 2030, the global energy system will save more than 50 billion kilowatt hours of electricity annually, which is one of the key technologies to promote the transformation of green energy.

From the perspective of standard guidance, there are currently teams in China leading the development of international standards for power electronic transformers, which have entered the final review stage.

Overall, material breakthroughs are reshaping the technological roadmap of power equipment. Amorphous nanocrystalline iron cores not only promote the upgrading of solid-state transformers, but also provide basic material support for emerging fields such as hydrogen electrolysis and magnetic levitation power supply. With the vigorous promotion of the "dual carbon" target, the market size of high-frequency transformers in China is expected to reach 120 billion yuan by 2030, and amorphous nanocrystals will enter an important period of development opportunities.
